Let’s rethink affordable housing. & Let’s do it Hackathon Style.


Carleton’s Hatch at 1125@Carleton has teamed up with The Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa, Second Chance Homes, and Carleton University’s Design Faculties to host a hackathon in order to remodel shipping containers for affordable housing.

Here’s how it works:
Friday: Participants team up and pitch design ideas
Saturday: Teams develop ideas, build cardboard prototypes
Sunday: Final Touches, A pitch to Judges, & Winners Announced

Prize: An investement (TBA) to build the remodel.
